The Gore Planning Experience
The Process
First Meeting- Where do we want to go? You will get to know Brad a little better and he will conduct a detailed needs assessment to determine your specific landscaping needs. Important topics like patio areas, swimming pools, screening certain views, children’s features, outdoor dining areas, domestic animals, and safety lighting will be some of the many topics considered in his analysis to help formulate the ideal landscape for you. Brad will show you the way with a contract landscape design!
- Landscape plans offered:
- Planting & Hardscape Plan- The best landscape plan which shows all plant material listed and itemized and specialty hardscape features with necessaryperspective renderings to show what they look like in 3D. Thisis the master plan which is appropriate for HOA and most city/county permitting.
- Landscape Lighting Plan- shows all low-voltage lighting fixtures, like pathway lamps and specialty accent lights, along with their specified styles, colors and locations in the landscape. Also, any high-voltage fixtures like garden outlets, lamp posts, sconces or spa connections. By far the most popular second landscape plan as the landscape at night becomes a completely different world.
- Landscape Irrigation Plan- shows all irrigation systems, timers and lateral line runs, garden hose-bibs and main-line runs. This is a very helpful plan for those wishing to do it themselves or just to know where everything is located underground when the project is completed.
- Landscape Drainage Plan- shows all drainage systems & components, leach fields, percolation zones, rain-gutters, rain-harvesting systems, water diversion walls, bio-swales, pump-stations, soil-conservation systems and run-off containment basins/ponds. This is a very helpful plan for areas with very poor drainage or soil percolation.
- Grading Plan- a topographic landscape design plan showing existing or future soil grades as needed to facilitate proper water run-off and needed terracing to support custom-built features like walls and terraces.
Preliminary Design- Proposal of how we get there. Brad will show you a rendition of the future garden so you will begin to visualize how it is taking shape. Important factors like construction costs, materials, colors and plant selections are determined together at this meeting. Modifications to the landscape design plan may be made at this time.
Finalized Design- Your garden destination realized. This is an exciting time! A completed set of your custom landscape design plans will be delivered and explained for you. Brad will personally walk you through your future garden space and answer all your questions. By now you will have a solid understanding of what to expect going forward to the construction phase.
Construction- Implementation of the plans. Upon request, Brad can provide a detailed landscape construction proposal to begin the implementation process of your new garden. Gore Planning, Inc. works very closely with local reputable licensed landscape contractors who can work off your plans to bring them to fruition. Whether realizing the entire plan at once or building it in phases, once construction is completed you will have the garden of your dreams!
